Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance Website Redesign
Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance (FGEA) is the economic development arm of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce in Flint, Michigan. FGEA provides economic development services for Genesee County and its 15 municipalities. FGEA underwent a rebrand to create a separate identity for the economic development program that better aligns with its mission. Following its rebrand, FGEA needed a new economic development website to attract site selectors and prospective companies and to serve existing companies and new start-ups.
Upsize Marketing Strategies (UMS) and partners were engaged to redesign the FGEA website. Specializing in economic development marketing, President Christine Wong Rambo, CEcD held SWOT focus group meetings with the internal team and external stakeholders. Based on the SWOT interviews and research, Christine identified Flint and Genesee County’s competitive advantages and formulated marketing strategies for the new website. UMS also designed the navigation site map and identified the content and design for each web page on the website: developflintandgenesee.org
UMS delivered a 30-page marketing report that outlined Flint and Genesee’s key “selling points,” marketing strategies, and content for the new website. Christine also evaluated user experience and provided quality assurance on the project. Convergence installed HubSpot Tools on the site to enhance user experience and searchability.
